How long does it take to learn French?
There is no single answer to this question, however students at The Little French Maison completing 4 levels/courses per year, would be estimated to be speaking at an advanced level in 3 years with a strong understanding of grammar and a large vocabulary base. Of course Individual, private classes are a more accelerated option, enabling students more one-to-one teaching and personal attention, in addition to the ability to fit more lessons in per year and to go at your own pace. Another way of speeding up is to take a private course in addition to your group course. Students who review their work at home and immerse themselves in reading French and watching French television or films will advance much quicker. Lessons can do so much but it is also up to the individual to build a regular French culture into their everyday life. We recommend visiting France or a Francophone country where possible and spending a few weeks somewhere where you can just speak French. Language swap, and joining our conversation courses (whether online or at our classroom.

Online studying is just as effecting as taking an in-person lesson and we find our online students are equally enthusiastic to learn. Our online lessons provide students with the motivation required to focus on learning, and the structure to book their confidence and speak at their own pace.
